HOW THE GREATEST JAMES BOND AFFECTED MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY SON
The great Sean Connery has passed away at 90-years-old. There have been many James Bonds but they all sit in a shadow of what Sean Connery portrayed for many years. Connery is simply known as the greatest James Bond ever. And none of those movies were even close to my favorite when it came to his characters. The list is long with this Scottish actor who brought something very different, new, fresh, and creative to the big screen. Here’s some of what you may remember and have forgotten that Sean Connery graced us with…
Dr. No
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
Never, Say Never Again
Goldfinger
From Russia
Thunderball
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The Untouchables
The Rock
Diamonds Are Forever
The Hunt For Red October
The League of Extraordinary Gentleman
The Name of the Rose
Highlander
Entrapment
Finding Forester
First Knight
Marnie
The Man Who Would Be King
Zardoz
A Bridge Too Far
Time Bandits
I’ve gone on long enough. Connery has so many more. So many great memories and movies that range from cheesy, serious, funny, and magical. I have great memories of sitting in front of my living room T.V. watching some of this magic with my son. We loved the adventure. We loved how even though he was old, he was cool and looked about as good as anyone can as they age through this crazy world.
I never knew Sean Connery. Never got a picture with him or shook his hand and never exchanged anything other than a love and respect for what he brought the world. For all of us, it’s probably something a bit different and for some, he brought nothing. For me, it was time with my boy. Time I’ll always remember and love and those times make me smile. They make me grateful. For that, I thank you good sir. May God bless your soul.
