ReDesign Set For Kirkham Hot Springs
One of the most majestic things about Idaho is the serene and beautiful hot springs, but recent years have produced trash brought in by soakers and never taken out. Kirkham Hot Springs has been so abused that it prompted the Boise National Forest to close the gate.
This past August the Boise National Forest attempted to give gate access to the hot springs but the trash problem quickly returned.
A complete closure of the hot springs has been considered but according to an article by Idaho News 6 says the problem is that it’s a top tourist attraction that brings dollars to businesses in the city of Lowman.
The Boise National Forest is now working on a redesign for Kirkham Hot Springs through the Great American Outdoors Act. The plan is to have something worked out by the end of 2022.
