I’m soooooo pumped to watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion show! It’s CRAZY to think the first episode aired THIRTY years ago. I vividly remember watching new episodes as a kid in the living room before my parents came home from work and then getting set for dinnertime.
The special was recorded in September, on a re-created set of the Banks family living room. There will be a candid conversation on the special between Smith and Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv.
Apparently, two cast members did not want to be a part of the show initially. Jazzy Jeff aka Jazz was one of them and says he had no acting aspirations, and Will Smith asked him ten times. Could you imagine the show without Uncle Phil throwing Jazz out of the house every few episodes?
The other person to ALMOST not appear on the show was Daphne Maxwell Reid aka the 2nd Aunt Viv. When Will Smith asked her to audition for the show, she responded with a 'Pass.'
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Reunion Special airs this Thursday (Nov 19th) on HBO Max.
