This Year's Hottest Toys List Released by Toys 'R' Us

Every year a select few toys transcend all others to become the year’s hottest toys and this year, Toys ‘R’ Us has the list.
I feel like this scene has played out in a television sitcom before, but it actually happened to me way back in 1984. Cabbage Patch Dolls were all the rage and for some reason, my mother really wanted one for Christmas. Unfortunately, they were in such high demand that finding one was near impossible and when you did, it came at a high price.
My dad somehow made a connection with someone who could get him one. In order to get it, he would have to meet this guy in the parking lot of JC Penny, hand over $200 cash and the man would give him the doll. It played out exactly as planned and out from this man’s trunk came what would cause my mother to weep on Christmas morning. There is actual photo evidence of this that I’m going to dig up and post here when I find it. But what a thing to behold it was. Merry Christmas, indeed.
Fast forward to now and the hot toys are a lot easier to get your hands on without resorting to seedy tactics. Sure, there are instances where hot, holiday items can be hard to get. For instance, the new Playstation 5 console which hasn’t been released yet is already fetching up to $1200 on Ebay!
