The Treasure Valley’s Lizard Thief Arrested
This isn’t something you see stolen on a regular basis, but Boise Police have been searching for the Treasure Valley’s “lizard thief” since July.
49-year-old, Christopher Lou Garcia, stands accused of smuggling lizards out of pet shops and is now facing two felony counts of grand theft.
According to KTVB and investigators, Garcia would go into pet shops and wait until employees were not looking and then he would slip retiles, specifically bearded dragons, out of their cages and into his pocket!
It is unclear at this point whether Garcia was re-selling the reptiles or keeping them as pets.
He was arrested on Tuesday in Caldwell and will be transferred to Ada County to face charges.
