As if to put an exclamation point on the past week’s events, both the Foo Fighters and System of A Down released new music over the weekend.

Dave Grohl and his fighters of Foo haven’t been silent at all throughout this pandemic. Twitter beefs with pre-teen drummers, zoom performances and even a parody commercial for a fictional drug that helped Dave tackle his coffee addiction are but a few of the ways the Foos have remained front and center. So it should come as no surprise to learn that they’ve been working on new music. You know what they say about idle hands.

Saturday Night Live was hosted by Dave Chappelle this week and the Foo Fighters were the musical guest. It was that stage in New York City where they debuted “Shame Shame”.

We are wondering the same thing that you are. How did that gum not go flying out of his mouth?

System of A Down took a note from Tool and have deprived us of new music for 14 years. Strife within the band and political differences between Serj and John may have fueled that wait to an extent. All of that aside, SOAD dropped not one, but TWO new tracks over the weekend - Protect The Land and Genocidal Humanoidz.

Both songs are for sale on their Bandcamp page and all proceeds are being donated to the Aid For Artsakh Campaign.

If these three songs are any indication as to what 2021 might have in store for us from a music stand-point, we are in for one hell of a great year.
