SNOW IS ON THE WAY TREASURE VALLEY

Ice Storm

To say that we’ve had a mild Winter so far is an understatement. I feel that with Covid, the holidays, and everyone getting that bonus stimulus money, none of us have really paid much attention to the incredible, gorgeous weather we’ve had here in the Boise area.

When you can take your dog walking in the sunshine and NOT have a coat on… Mid January… that’s saying something.

I don’t remember who it was that said it but it was said. “All good things must come to an end”. Yes, that beautiful sunshine is about to go away and it’s batten down the hatches time. At least for a little while. I’ll have to dig through the garage to see if that snow shovel’s still there because I haven’t had to use it yet this WHOLE Winter!

Wednesday morning you’ll most likely be waking up to icy roads, white covered lawns, and all the craziness that comes with that first storm we’ve seen in a long time. For some reason, people will continue to speed, crash, get stuck, and just act like they have no idea what to do when it snows. Those guys are scary but the ones that crawl at 5 mph on I-84 scare me more. Drivers are forced to slam on their brakes, swerve, and do all sorts of maneuvers NOT intended for snow driving. I guess what I’m trying to say is “Look Out”!

On Wednesday we should get snow / rain for most of the day. Temperatures look pretty good which has become the norm here in the Treasure Valley. Mid 40’s for a high. Thursday and Friday gives us a bit of a break and then Saturday that white stuff should be hitting us again. Neither storm is major. Are we going to get enough to make a difference? Most likely, YES but if you’re thinking that schools or work will shut down because of this… Ha! That’s what Covid’s for.

Be prepared, slow down, and drive like a human being please. Then we can all go home to our families safely and none of us have to sit in that two hour long traffic jam caused by someone’s misfortune.
