I received an email from a friend about the urgent need for support and volunteers for the Boise Veterans Day Parade…or it will not happen again this year.

Here is the email - scroll to the bottom for contact info:

Hi Everyone,

The Boise Veterans Parade has been saluting Idaho Veterans for 20 years. It was cancelled last year due to COVID (just like everything else) and is in a holding pattern for 2021. I am on the Parade Committee, and we spend 10 months planning the parade before the big event in November.

We have been in a holding pattern for 2021 because of COVID unknowns earlier this year and groups unable to commit for the future because of organizational restrictions. We have already been notified that local high bands will be UNABLE to make a commitment at this time. The Parade Committee will make a decision on Wednesday, July 21,  if the 2021 will take place this year or not.

IF THE PARADE WERE TO TAKE PLACE on Saturday, November 6th in downtown Boise, would your organization be willing to take part in the parade or provide volunteers?

Please respond by Tuesday at 5pm. I know everyone would like to see the parade move forward but we can’t do it without participants and volunteers.

Thank you,

Mitzi Cheldelin
