My Top 5 Favorite Books This Summer

I’m a reader. I seriously love a good book when I can find the time. I’m old school in the sense that I want to feel and smell the pages. Reading to my children is one of my favorite memories with my kids and my daughter has developed a deep love of reading as well. When I don’t have the time, I’m grateful for audio versions!

Here are my favorite books that I’ve read this summer! (With links, so you can get your own copy!)

  1. If Untold by Norelle Smith [This book has everything I look for in a fictional novel. Romance, mystery, and crime! It’s an easy read and a total page turner!] Plus, I love that when you purchase this book, 50% of the proceeds go right back to kids here in the Boise area to help them with school supplies!

  2. The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz (I LOVE and try to live by this author’s book “The Four Agreements” so I was so excited to read this guide to love.) It tackles love on many levels, not just romantic love and will help you see this powerful emotion and connection with others in a whole new light. I love this author’s perspective on things.

  3. Magnolia Table Vol. 2 by Joanna Gaines [This cookbook came out last year, and I got it in the thick of the pandemic, but I’m going to include it because as much as I LOVE cookbooks, I find that I buy them and then I rarely use them. That is not the case with this book.} I use this cookbook all the time. Some of my favorite recipes are the weeknight salmon, the chicken parmesan, and the blueberry sweet rolls with lemon glaze.

  4. Educated by Tara Westover [I’m on the slow train with this one as well, but if you haven’t read this incredible true story, pick it up. It’s also pretty interesting that most of it took place in eastern Idaho.)

  5. Between Breaths by Elisabeth Vargas (If you have anxiety or have battled addiction, whether you were the one addicted yourself or someone you love has suffered with substance abuse, read this book. It’s raw, real, and helped me make sense of so much of my inner trauma.)
