Idaho’s Favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish

IMG_6933.jpeg

As a native Idahoan, I know how much we love our potatoes, which is why I had very conflicted feelings about Idaho’s favorite Thanksgiving side dish being green bean casserole according to a new study.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good green bean casserole on Thanksgiving, but it just doesn’t feel right that the potato state didn’t rank mashed potatoes as the best Thanksgiving side dish. Maybe we eat TOO many potatoes?? You’re right, that’s just ridiculous, of course we don’t.

Our neighboring states Washington and Montana both ranked mashed potatoes as the top side, while Oregon went with biscuits and Utah chose rolls.

Either way, Thanksgiving food is all top notch in my opinion, but I would be lying to you if I said that I didn’t lose sleep over Idaho NOT choosing potatoes as the top side dish.

We talk more about this entire Thanksgiving food map on our podcast, Joey and Lauren On Demand, which you can listen to the conversation below.
