IDAHO GAS PRICES UP 45 CENTS IN LAST MONTH

What is going on at the pumps and why has Idaho just cracked the Top 10 for states with the most expensive fuel? We’re paying more than 70 cents a gallon compared to this same time last year and the national average is well over 80 cents a gallon more.

Triple A says there’s no easy answer to the issue but there is good news coming. Gas prices stayed about the same and even dropped a bit in the majority of states over this past week which is a good sign. That happened in 45 different states. Unfortunately, for us, Idaho was not one of them. We’re hoping to follow that trend. This is the first time we’ve seen this happen in four months so let’s just pray.

Fuel demand right now is high as people begin to get a little anxious dealing with this pandemic for well over a year now and some have taken to the roads to get away for awhile during Spring Break. That demand always drives prices up.

While Idaho is usually one of the more expensive states when it comes to gasoline prices, the Treasure Valley area is generally THE most expensive area in our state. Here’s the breakdown of what gas prices are at right now according to different areas.

  • Boise – $3.15

  • Coeur d’Alene – $2.71

  • Franklin – $3.19

  • Idaho Falls – $2.98

  • Lewiston – $2.83

  • Pocatello – $3.05

  • Twin Falls – $3.08
