Cruisin’ & Pickin’ for a Purpose

Here’s an idea for something to do this Saturday that will be fun, productive and will get you outside to enjoy our gorgeous weather - we are expecting sunshine and 85 degrees!

YOU have been invited to join a group of motorcycle riders that meets up in Kuna on the last Saturday of each month for a cruise up to an orchard in Caldwell. Each month the riders volunteer their time to pick fruit that is donated to needy families around the world!

This Saturday NO motorcycle needed - just show up in your own personal vehicle. This is an opportunity to make new friends, have some fun, and enjoy the beautiful ride and views from the road.

When: 8 am Saturday, September 25th

Where: Meet in the church parking lot that’s next to Kuna High School, 313 East Deer Flat Road

The caravan of vehicles and motorcycles will then depart at about 8:30 am and drive to the Caldwell Idaho Orchard for about an hour of picking fruit that will be donated to feed needy families. There will also be an opportunity for volunteers to glean some apples and take them home at no charge. Peaches, pears and apples will also available for purchase by cash or check only.

Without the assistance of volunteers this year’s apple crop will go to waste. During a typical year there have been lots of folks who show up to help harvest the fruit but because of the pandemic and lack of volunteers they are in dire need of people available to lend a hand.

The Caldwell Idaho Orchard provides healthy produce for families around the world and last year they provided 25 tons of produce to the Feed America Project!
