Hundreds Of Sheep Cause Traffic Jam On Idaho 55

What a sight! Hundreds of sheep trekking down Idaho 55. Hopefully you weren’t looking to get through this area because it took a lot of people and a lot of effort to corral this herd.

Here’s what was posted on the Eagle Police Department Facebook page recently…

“It’s a sure sign autumn has arrived when Wilder-based rancher Frank Shirts drives a herd of sheep east to west across Idaho 55.

Here’s the aerial view from this morning near Beacon Light Road.

The herd spent the last several months in the Boise National Forest and Foothills and are now headed to lower ground for winter.

Eagle Police and the ranch-hands (and dogs) made sure the sheep got safely through and on their way.”

I’ve lived a lot of places during my life and NOWHERE did I ever see anything like this. I absolutely LOVE living in Idaho.
