This week marks a song that has become one of the staples of rock and roll that carries with it quite a back story.

Rumors were flying that this song was written by Mick Jagger about David Bowie’s wife Angela. It was one of those rumors that spread quicker than lightning because of Mick’s reputation as a ladies man and the fact that most people who didn’t know the rest of the story. Like most gossip, the truth is something more common. But the debate still rages to this day.

The song was written by Keith Richards about his newly born daughter. Keith was in lockdown in rehab for drug abuse at the time and has said publicly that he will always regret not being there to welcome her into the world.
