Idaho kids will receive free school lunches for the 2021-2022 school year regardless of income. The reimbursement comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. You should check with your child’s school for specific details and you can find out more information at www.westada.org

As a parent to two kids, I’m thrilled at this move. Getting through the pandemic has been tough on everyone and increased prices at the gas pump and in groceries stores among other places causes a strain. I was paying around $125 a month for school lunches and that was only allowing my kids to eat school lunch two or three times a week and making them sack lunches on the other days. Here’s to enjoying a little extra in the wallet while times are still tough for a lot of people. Although, I must say since having this benefit both last year and this year, it’s going to be tough when I have to fork out for school lunch again!
