Five Nampa Schools Closed For The Week
Sickness is running through the Treasure Valley and our schools are suffering now more than they ever have throughout this past year. Badly enough to where there is just NOT enough staff available to take care of the day-to-day duties.
Our news partners over at Channel 7 KTVB stated that as of today, Tuesday (01-18-22) there are more than 170 staff members out and 72 different classrooms empty because of the widespread COVID-19 infections.
This has led school district officials to cancel the remaining time this week in hopes that staff and students can recuperate and get back into the classroom.
Also, those substitute teachers available can now be used in school districts that continue to suffer and have a need for anyone available to fill in.
There have already been cancellations here in the Treasure Valley, specifically the Horseshoe Bend School District and Wilder School District which have both moved to remote learning for now.
School is expected to return as normal on Monday, January 24. The following schools have been canceled for the remainder of the week…
New Horizons Dual Language School
Gateways
Nampa Early Childhood Learning Center
East Valley Middle School
Centennial Elementary School
