Boise’s I-84 Shut Down For 1,200 Motorcyclists
It gets bigger and bigger every year and knowing that all those motorcycles flying by means Much Needed Cash for Idaho’s military families puts a BIG smile on my face every time I see it.
The Patriot Thunder Motorcycle Ride has raised more than $2 Million so far for the fine members of our Idaho National Guard and their families. Specifically, the money goes towards interest-free loans.
Today marked the 11th annual Patriot Thunder Motorcycle Ride and the route started at High Desert Harley Davidson in Meridian and went along I-84 to their final destination in Mountain Home.
Keeping everyone organized and in line is not as easy as you’d think. This ride caps out at 1,200 participants and a lot of them showed up HOURS before kickstands went in the air so they could lead the pack.
Our fine men and women of the Idaho State Police gave our motorcycle riders an escort as they do every year to make sure everyone’s safe and to help alleviate any and all possible issues.
The ride again went off this afternoon without a hitch. There were a lot of high fives, conversations, smiles, and laughter as the riders headed out on their journey knowing that they make a HUGE difference for the Idaho Army National Guard every year.
My hat’s off to all those who took the time and to those who helped donate the money needed. This is just another example of why living here in the Treasure Valley is just the absolute best.
