Could a light rail option be coming to the Treasure Valley?

As the Treasure Valley grows, so does the ever increasing traffic problem and a new light rail could solve all of it.

When I arrived in Boise from Missouri and commented to others about how awesome this area of the US was, they would often put their fingers to their lips as if to shush me and say “don’t let word get out.” It’s no secret, people love the small town feel of the Treasure Valley and the recent growth has spawned much division. It’s also spawned some unforeseen traffic issues. Seriously, I hope you don’t have to get down State street in a hurry…ever.

A new (old?) plan is currently open for debate about the possibility of adding a light rail. This rail would serve a couple purposes. One would be to increase travel to and from Caldwell and Boise. The other would be to lessen the stress and traffic on 84, 184 and surface streets.

The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho is asking for your input about a light rail. Would you use it and if so, how? You can take the survey HERE.
