14-Year-Old Stabbed at Wahooz in Meridian

It’s something you never expect on a fun night out, but after an argument broke out a 14-year-old was stabbed at Wahooz Family Fun Center in Meridian.

The incident happened at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday evening. The suspect stabbed the boy in the side and quickly fled the scene in a dark colored BMW with Canyon County license plates.

The 14-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and although his latest condition is unknown according to an article on KTVB.com, he was conscious and responsive when emergency personnel arrived on the scene.

The suspect is being described as wearing a black shirt and light blue pants. He was last seen driving westbound on Overland Road. Police believe there is no threat to the public and this was an isolated incident.

Wahooz has issued an official statement saying,

At approximately 6:25pm there was an altercation between two groups of young adults at Wahooz. A male was stabbed in the side. He was responsive and conscious when transported by ambulance. Wahooz management is cooperating fully with authorities in the investigation. The safety of guests and employees was not compromised at any time. Wahooz remains open.

Police say that altercations like this are very rare in Ada County and that although this shows a sign of growth in our area, they want to remind the public that our community remains a very safe place.

Wahooz remains open and continues to be a place of fun and joy for families around the Treasure Valley. We applaud their personnels quick response to this situation. Sometimes bad things simply happen in the most unlikely of places. We hope the suspect is caught and that the victim recovers fully.
