Highway 55 Fall Construction Schedule

FALL CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

Starting Sept. 7, 2021, the ID-55 Smiths Ferry project will transition to the fall construction schedule. Crews will continue blasting work and begin constructing retaining walls next to the river. Traffic will be shifted in certain locations to accommodate the work.

Drivers can expect full road closures Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After 2 p.m., the road will be open to one-way alternating traffic. Please note: Delays may be significant immediately after the road reopens due to large traffic volumes. Plan to arrive later than 2 p.m. or be prepared to wait. Once this traffic clears, drivers can expect 15-minute delays.
