The 1975 Have BIG Plans For Boise

The English Indie , Pop Rock band is making their way to ExtraMile Arena on Monday for what is sure to be a concert unlike many held at the venue. The band was last in Boise in 2017, during a time where their fan base would have been much smaller than today.

Boise has really started to grow as a tour stop for acts of almost all sizes, though we are shy of seeing the likes of Taylor Swift or George Strait any time soon. It wasn’t long ago that a band like The 1975 would have been relegated to a much smaller venue than Extra Mile, if they made the stop at all. In an era where the Treasure Valley and general Boise Metro has been at the top of so many lists touting it as one of the best places to live for one reason or another people have actually moved here and it seems the touring managers have noticed. If you are an Indie Rock or Alternative fan, we have seen Modest Mouse, Matt Maeson, boygenius, Gaslight Anthem, The Lumineers, Young The Giant with Milky Chance all in the last year, just to get started. If you are a country fan, well, almost anybody with a name is making it to the area, save George Strait; we have not accomplished getting the King of Country here recently, likely because he only plays a handful of venues a year and Boise is just simply not big enough for that.

On Monday The 1975 take on Boise at ExtraMile Arena as they bring their unique flavor of what many might call Indie Rock, while it seems to blur the lines to Pop Rock and other genres as the band has a fairly diverse sound and seem to try new things consistently. The 1975 has had Alternative chart hits in the past decade that include “Somebody Else”, “Chocolate”, “About You”, “I’m In Love With You” and others, which can be heard on local Alternative music outlet 96.5 The Alternative. Monday nights show is expected to be well attended, however tickets do remain available as of the time this is being written.
