IDAHO THEME PARK ROLLER COASTER SET ON FIRE
Someone broke into and set fire to a wooden roller coaster at Silverwood Theme Park near Coeur’ D’Alene on Saturday.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The fire took place during off-hours at approximately 1:30 in the morning. Luckily, the park’s security officers saw the fire while it was still small and were able to put it out easily with a fire extinguisher.
Authorities were obviously called and now the hunt is on. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is looking for any and all leads. Were you in the area that night? Did you see anything suspicious?? A person, a vehicle, anything at all that seemed like it was a bit out of the norm.
We know that someone took time to cut a hole in the fence, slipped through, and then proceeded to douse the wooden roller coaster with gasoline. The gasoline was lit and then the arson took off.
Very little damage actually took place so it was easy for park officials to fix up this particular area on the roller coaster and they had things up and running again Saturday afternoon.
