Green Day is Back!

With a new album on the horizon Green Day releases a new single that is totally on brand!

The first single and opening track for the band’s new album Saviors dropped today. After a solid week of hinting that something was coming on their social media the band released “The American Dream is Killing Me”, which has an accompanying music video. When released on January 19th, Saviors will be the bands 14th studio album. If you are a fan of previous albums Dookie and American Idiot you may be into this one as it is co-produced by Rob Cavallo who produced those now iconic albums.

Along with releasing the first single “The American Dream Is Killing Me” Warner Music sent out a press release this morning that quotes Billie Joe Armstrong as describing the song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people -- in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

This new record comes just ahead of Dookie’s 30th anniversary and celebrations have already begun with the release of a massive deluxe edition of the album and a surprise show in Las Vegas where the band performed Dookie from front to back to a sold-out crowd of superfans.

Local Boise radio station 96.5 The Alternative started playing the new track immediately when released this morning and has committed to playing the track for the forseable future.
