Did You Take On An Internship In School?
I remember my first internship(s) early in my career. I was in Broadcasting School in 2008 and after classes I would intern behind the scenes at NBC 4 in Washington DC, and at night I would answer the request lines at Hot 99.5. That led me to my first full time in radio in Pennsylvania, and moving to Boise in 2013! I’m a huge fan of people doing internships (paid or unpaid) and learning hands on in their career fields.
I’ve also had several talented students who have interned at Wild101 here in the Treasure Valley, and I hope I gave the proper guidance to them, just like I was fortunate to learn from great people during my internships.
My time spent “Learning By Doing” was priceless. Which is why I want to give a shout out to Tiffany Haddish!
Tiffany Haddish is launching an internship program in 2021 for youth in foster care!
It will be done in conjunction with Ready to Succeed and her production company, She Ready Productions. Interns in the program will receive a paycheck, mentorship and an opportunity to work in the entertainment industry.
Tiffany says, “I believe that children that come from different cultures deserve a chance to work in the industry and I would like people that look like me to be able to represent me too in the industry.”
