5 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT BOISE
When you hear “Boise is a hidden gem,” it’s the absolute truth! I moved here five years ago I thought Idaho was just going to be a bunch of dirt and potatoes, but boy was I wrong!!
Here’s the Top 5 Things I Love About Boise!!
All the cool hikes: I’m not a big hiker, but I love that there are fairly easy hikes around town that take you to breathtaking scenic views. A little day trip up Table Rock or a quick trek up Camels Back quickly helps you rediscover how beautiful our “City of Trees” is.
The Squirrels: People always laugh when I talk about how much I love the squirrels, but every time I see one it makes me happy! They are just too darn cute! (If they are eating fruit off your trees or getting in your garden in the summertime you may feel differently!)
Huckleberries: Huckleberries take me back to my youth. We’d visit my great-grandma in Grangeville nearly every Thanksgiving and I loved waking up to homemade scones and huckleberry jam! Now I love huckleberry balsamic vinegar, syrup, vodka, you name it!
The Boise River and Greenbelt: There is nothing more peaceful (even though it does get a little hairy at times) than floating the Boise River in the summer. Its hands down my favorite thing to do. When float season is over, I love nothing more than a little bike ride or walk along our scenic greenbelt along the river. Boise is so Beautiful!
How affordable it truly is to live here compared to the rest of the country. I know house prices have been skyrocketing, but especially if you got in early, you can get a lot of bang for your buck here. I look at my house all the time and think, most people in L.A. or New York would die for this.
Bottom line, if you live here, it doesn’t take long to realize how blessed we are! What’s your favorite part about the Boise area?
