1-84 NOT closed Ignore Google

Google Maps and other GPS navigation tools are often showing I-84 as being closed between Ontario and Baker City,Oregon. The freeway was closed for a couple hours on Tuesday, June 28th, but was open by 10 p.m. that evening and remains open.

Following GPS recommended detour routes can land you on roadways that are not appropriate for Interstate traffic. Stay on I-84 instead.

A good reliable resource is TripCheck.com The site will provide the current status of the freeway and other routes.

 As you head out for the 4th of July, the last thing we want to see is people stranded and/or running out of fuel.
